Connecting Japanese Contractors to the US Government
- Ease of Doing Business: Dealing with the US government can be cumbersome and accompanied by a steep learning curve. We help our Japan-based contractors to streamline their processes and interactions with the US government.
- Experience and Technical Expertise: The contract documents include drawings and specifications that are in English and can be difficult to understand. Our services are backed by extensive experience and solid technical expertise required of the contract.
- Limited Resource Availability: Resources with sufficient experience in working with the United States government are limited in Japan.
- Material Procurement: Some materials for the project must be sourced from the US. We carry expertise in submittal review, procurement, and delivery of overseas construction materials for the following CSI Divisions:
- Division 05 Metal
- Division 06 Wood, Plastics and Composites
- Division 07 Thermal and Moisture Protection
- Division 08 Openings (Doors and Windows)
- Division 09 Finishes
- Division 10 Specialties
- Division 11 Equipment
- Division 12 Furnishing
- Division 13 Special Construction (Seismic Support)
- Division 14 Conveying Equipment
- Division 22 Plumbing
- Division 23 Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning
- Division 26 Electrical
- Division 32 Exterior Improvements
- Division 33 Utilities
- Division 34 Transportation
The entire project can be compromised if errors occur during the submittal process. Therefore, submittals made by a contractor for the project manager/architect’s approval requires technical expertise.
It is also essential to maintain an accurate contractual understanding of the project and prepare detailed project submittals for a better chance of overall success for the project.
